Hi everybody,

I am very new to Saltwater Aquariums. I am currently setting up a 55G tank. I am researching a few items still.....Protein skimmer and lighting for my tank in which I plan to add some coral. Any suggestions on products would be greatly appreciated and I look forward to reading through the forums and setting up my tank!!!

Welcome to the site! There is lots of great info here. I don't use a skimmer myself but run a algae scrubber you can check them out in the DIY section of this site. Its the sticky at the top. Cant wait to see some pics

HI guys glad to be here. Pirate, the algae scrubber looks interesting but not an option for me as I dont have an enclosed stand. I'm sure the wife will not want all that stuff visible. Thanks for the info though!!
