Help to the newbie in the Marine fish tank world

Hi Guys,

I am very new to the Marine fish world and looking to buy a tank very soon...I have done lots of research and need your help.

The issue I have is that I have found a second hand 2foot cube Clearseal Tank which looks great, but the guy selling it has said there is a chip (see photos attached).

Do you think the tank looks safe..also is that supposed to be that black around the glass?

Would really appreciate your knowledge.

it does not look bad from what i can see i me personally i dont think i would buy a tank that was chipped

I agree. It doesn't look that bad....but I would just buy a new tank if I were you. Unless there are extensive budgetary concerns a new tank is always better.

And the black is black silicone, instead of clear.

I think its in the bottom corner of the tank....it doesn't look like it extends to where the panes meet, though.
