Help what's happened to my mushroom

Can any one shine some light on what may of happened to my mushroom ? Should I remove it from my tank

Doesn't look like a mushroom to me, but rather a leather.
Also looks like it got ripped at the bottom too.

It's a leather mushroom , should I remove it from my tank or will it heal itself ??

It's a toadstool leather. Not a leather mushroom. ;)

It looks very bleached (white). What kind of light do you have? Usually they are very hardy and can recover from damage or injury. I wouldn't remove it unless it starts melting away and disintegrating.

What size tank is it?

5ft tank approx 70 gallon everything else in the tank is fine , water quality perfect also

How long has the leather been in your tank?
And have you made any changes to the tank in the past few weeks?
What about the smaller leathers next to it, are they retracted for long periods too?

Woke up this morning and the head is completly off , lying on the bottom of the tank
