Help with fresh water dip!!

Been treating my tang for ich with heavy feeding and metronidazole for 3 weeks +/- with no obvious improvement so I thought I'd try a fresh water dip if I can catch him but
I buffered my ro water to dKH 9.6 and Alk 3.4 to match the tank but the pH is reading 8.8 now ???? what did I do wrong???

Is there something else I need to add ( just added ro water, Osmo Prep, and then buffer until I reached the right Alk.)

You could be getting a false reading try another test.

Retested, same results for dKH Alk and pH.
Read the buffer and it said retest pH after 24 to 48 hours.
Do I need to wait that long for it to stabilize or just for the reading to be accurate?

Im a huge fan of dkh I like it because you add it every 24 hours until target alk and ph are aquired at that point you only dose once a week to keep it stable. You infact may be testing too soon wait 48 hours and test again.

Ok so I guess the dip will have to wait till tomorrow thanks. Does the water need to have any lights for the pH I know it makes a diff. in the tank but this is just in a 5 gal. bucket with an bubbles so I can do the four min. dip and then discard.
