Hermet crabs

was just wondering if I made part of my rockwork go out of the water would the crabs go up on it. Because when I am at tide pools I see some crabs out of the water and I just wanted to know if they would leave the water in an aquarium for a short time.

I have done that and mine do! The problem is, is that part of the rock above the water line dies, because no "waves" keep it damp. Especially under the lights.

Just use dry base rock for the part thats going to be out of the water.That way you dont have expensive live rock drying out.

Ok but though the rock is dead at the top they still like it.
