Hermit crab murderer?

ok so last night I noticed 3 of my hermit crabs had been pulled from there shells.....poor little bodies laying there .....tragic

I did some looking on the net and I read on a few sites that fire shrimp will sometimes kill hermits.....and of course I read on others that Fire shrimp will not harm a waterflea...

anybody have any ideas or opinions ....the fire shrimp is the only this I can think of in my tank that could possibly be the culprit ...unless my one big hermit is killing his siblings.

I really want snails more than hermits but I hate to see the little guys murdered...i would rather take them to my LFS and trade them for a few more snails...

Are you sure you didn't just see the molts? Hermit crabs molt, and their molts look just like the actual crab.

I did not know that..... learned something.....it could have been I just pulled it out and flushed it....I will have to look better if I see it again.....I will also look to see if I have any shells that are empty that I did not put in for them

Probably molts, if not I would say the larger Hermit is more then likely the culprit.
