Hey all! Just wanted to say a quick hello to my old gang here at Living Reefs! It's been quite the year for us...the company I worked for ended up putting us out on strike for 12 loooong months! So I finally said I had enough of that and moved on to greener pastures. Or whiter pastures depending on how you look at it. See I'm way up here...

Anyways, life is pretty awesome up here, I am working at a diamond mine, I actually fly out onto the tundra for 14 days, then come home for 14 days off. Mel got on with the competing diamond mine! Shes in town and works Mon-Fri though. We had 24hr sunlight from about late april till the end of july, even now in August its only dark from about midnight till 4am. Opposite in winter, we only get a few hours of twilight mid day, then its dark the rest of the time. I have NO tanks running right now, but I am thinking something in the 50g range would be nice to brighten up the winter. I've already looked at places in edmonton and vancouver that can fly stuff here, the nice part about it is its the capital city up here, and there are ALOT of flights! Anyways, I'll come back later and chat more!

Holy crap!! You moved quite far away from 'civilization'! You really are at the top of the earth there -- that's pretty cool! From the google map, it sure looks beautiful. I take it you and Mel don't really mind the cold!

I'm glad to see you back! Please keep in touch and keep us updated as you go along. Check the "Vendor" thread -- I'm pretty sure that's where I started a "Vendors that Ship to Canada" list.

on a side note, winters get loooong up here! So with the release of final fantasy 14 next month, I decided to build my first computer in over six years! Its got all the awesomeness of computers I wished I could build back then! Parts started to arrive today, hopefully everything will be here by monday and I can start assembly!

my wife and I were hardcore with ffxi for a good three years, so when we heard of ffxiv next month we figured it would be a good time for the winter, considering there is over 20hrs of darkness a day.....:)

and the mine I work at is actually in the tundra, well north of the treeline.....
