On Wed I noticed all my corals not looking too great. I checked and everything was at 0. What I hadn't noticed was the evaporation in just 3 days time. SG was 1.027 or 028. I quickly added RO water to get it back down. Will this permanently damage soft corals? The hammer was almost completely withdrawn just before i did my weekly water change today...you could see the white spines. It appears to be coming back out slightly. I moved my blasto closer to a rock so it wasn't is too strong of water flow and when I accidentally touched one of them it felt like it had turned to rock. I now see that several of them have moved their mouths.

Normally the killer is a sudden change, so quickly putting RO water in may have done some damage, but only time will tell.
For future reference, you want to bring it down slowly, little by little.
