I have an octo HOB skimmer. ive had it for 2 years, and i rip it out and clean once a year.
i did this about 2 weeks ago and since then it blows micro bubbles. if i unplug it and let it sit for a while it will not blow bubbles for 2 days but then will start again.
its got 3 chambers, the first has the siphon from the tank and the venturi pump, the second is the one with the bubbles and collection cup, the third is the return to the tank.
the first chamber has a lower water level than im used to seeing, the third has more water than im used to seeing. ive checked the return for obstructions and havent found any. the only thing i havent done is pulled out the water pump and looked at that but im pretty sure it doesnt come out.
any ideas/suggestions? anyone ever had this problem before? should i pull it out and clean it again? was it is a coincidence this problem came after i cleaned it?
