And good clean water. They are filter feeders. Make sure to keep your calcium level up around 450.

+1 to both of you. I usually add a lil bit of phytoplex when feeding. Not sure if it works but my clam puffs a few times like its taking it in.

Be sure that your lights are very strong. Clams need more light than most corals. If you have the right light for them, they are very easy to keep -- and maxima clams are a good choice; they are probably the easiest.

Really? I think the crocea clams are prettier. They come in all sorts of purples, blues and greens.
