How Long Do Corals Live?

So my husband asked how long I should expect my Duncan to live, and I honestly had not answer. So how long do Duncans live in captivity? How long do other corals live? Is there a difference between Softies, LPS, and SPS?

Longer than you or I, at least in the oceans. In captivity it really depends on the conditions that they are kept it, but if you're able to keep them healthy (and you're seeing polyp extention / coral growth) you should still see a life span that's similar

like all living things if living conditions are adequate and the coral feels confortable and safe it can live very very long, some coral reefs are hundreds of years old , if all is well and maintained in your tank corals can live years , decades even maybe outlive you.

if im not mistaken soft corals have the shortest life span compared to SPS

I agree, they'll live as long as you keep them alive. :)
