I put a Sunpod 150 watt over my tank on April 29. It been running on average 9 hours a day. When should I replace the bulb?

i would say around 10 months.. give or take a month.

Once every 8-12 months I believe is what is recommended.

Yep!
depending on the brand of the bulb you should replace them every 8-18 months.

When changing bulbs had anyone ever had problems with light acclimation? A new bulb could very well change the spectral output.

A new bulb will have more PAR than a old, used bulb. The spectral output (color) has no affect on corals, but PAR values can. When you change to a new bulb, you can drop the time your MH lights are on by a few hrs/day and gradually build it back up.
