How many purple bulbs would you use?

My 72" 1070W Metal Halide System Advance Plus, from Aqua Traders, has shipped today. It has 4x 80w acintic blue t5's. I've heard that you can really make your pink, purples, and reds pop by replacing some of your acintic blues with Fiji Purples from reef geek.

How many of the blue bulbs would you change out? One, two, more? Or is it all personal preference?

Id call reef geek and ask em. Most color temps are a personal pref. They would be able to tell you what you could do for your situation, be aware halides will be strong vs your t5's and you make have to go with a high k MH bulb to get your t5's to really accent.

Thanks. I'll give him a call tomorrow to be sure. I see what ya meant, the 3 x 250w MH will drown out the mere 80w t5. If it's balance I'm looking for, I may have to go MH.

The purple bulbs are super intense. You really only need 1.
