How much to feed

How do you determine how much to feed fish? Thank you again!!

It varies tank to tank. Generally, you should feed no more than your fish can completely eat in a minute or two. If you are having algae problems or water parameter issues, you should cut back. It also depends on how mature the tank is -- tanks that have been established for a while have more natural food sources in them than newer tanks.

How many fish do you have? And what kind are they?

Have 2 tangs, one fox face one damsel, one scooter, two skunks.

Pretty overstocked for a 45 gallon tank. Are your water parameters okay, and no algae problems?

Do alot of maintenance & water changes, filter changes, costing me a bit of money but...the wife likes them all so I have to do thwe work. N03 is usually at 20to 30 PPM. All else OK though. I know, N03 should be a 0 but it all my critters seem to be ok with it now for 6 months...

If you don't have corals then it's ok to have nitrates higher then 0. But, the reason your nitrates are high and a good possibility for your current algae problem is your overstocking.

That tank is also much too small for the tangs and fox face

Looks like its gonna cost you a bit more to get a longer and bigger tank buddy.
You should really think about upgrading soon.
