I need a nice lid / cover, I hate mine...ideas?

Hi all,

I think I posted this in the wrong place...so Mods feel free to delete the other thread.

I currently have eggcrate with window screening on top of the eggcrate.

It works...but it cuts down the light WAY TOO MUCH.

It is also a pain because the mesh is too finely meshed...so when my skimmer output hits it....well lets just say it makes a mess.

I need a lid that is a) tight (planning on bluespot jawfish and a Helfrichi firefish) b) doesn't block a ton of light c) can be used around my HOB skimmer and powercords (heaters, powerheads etc)

Suggestions? Pics? Links?

I just picked up a glass lid for my 29gal, and custom cut the back plastic strip to accommodate my cords and hob skimmer.

I'm gonna again think custom. Your best bet is glass but who knows where your skimmers, pumps etc are. Thats somthing you have to provide.

You could alway make a custom plexiglass lid as it may be easier to cut. And you can drill small holes in it so that the gas exchange can still happen in a larger scale. And if you mess up you wont cut yourself. :twocents:

I have the same lid smitty uses, only bigger.

I tried many things before I settled on glass. Its a solid lid, and easiest to clean.
