All fish in main tank have ich. Too many fish to put in hospital tank & treat. Should we try & treat one at a time? Once they are placed back in main tank won't they just be infested again? Main tank has invertebrates & corals so can't do hyposalinty either. Please help if you have any suggestions! :dunno::cry:

you could get a large rubbermaid container and treat them in there. Set it up with a heater and some large PVC pieces for hiding places. Leave the main tank fish free for atleast 8 weeks. The coral and inverts arent effected by ich

Also, how many fish do you have and what kind? Also, what are you water parameters?Ich usually becomes a problem when the fish are stressed. Their immune system becomes compromised and the outbreak occurs. It could be from over stocking, one fish being a bully to the rest, or bad water quality.

We have a hospital tank, but it isn't big enough for everyone. Does the rubbermaid need a filter or skimmer? Or a powerhead? What would produce oxygen for them?

We have a 40 gal. With 5 fish. 1 blue regal tang. 2 clown fish. 3 chromis. All one inch or less in size. Everyone seems to get along fine. Haven't seen any bullying. The water parameters always check out good. Ph- 8.2-8.4 Ammonia/nitrate/nitrite- 0. calcium- 480. Salinity- 1.024. I can't think of all the other tests, but I know they are always in the acceptable range.

We placed 2 clowns in the tank without hospitalizing them, when we bought them they had no spots. The next day, they did. Then their spots went away. 3 days later, everyone has them. All fish are swimming pretty well & eating as normal.

You don't need a filter/skimmer on the hospital tank but, you'll need to do daily water changes to keep the ammonia and nitrites low. You will need at least one power head and a heater. Point one of the power heads at the surface of the water so it causes a ripple, that will promote your gas/oxygen exchange.
