SIZE - 5.5" (14 cm)

RANGE - Cosmoledo, Mauritius, Chagos, Maldives, Cocos-Keeling, Christmas Islands, Possibly Mozambique

MIN. AQUARIUM SIZE - 55 US Gal (208 L)

FOODS AND FEEDING - Black coral, gorgonians, sessile invertebrates

REEF COMPATIBILITY - With caution, may nip at gorgonians and stony coral polys, sessile invertebrates.

CAPTIVE CARE - This is an aggressive species and should not be kept with other butterflyfish, fish of similar color and food competitors. Feed a varied diet which includes finely chopped seafare for carnivore and herbivore, mysid shrimp, frozen preparations for butterflyfish. Acclimates well to captivity, if the system is large enough a pair can be kept or possibly a trio, provide hiding places such as caves and an established reef structure for long term success, feed min. 2 times a day in reef system and 3 times a day in fish only tank.
