Reefing newb
I stay up kind of late usually and the fish tank lights go off around 10:00 or so. Is it necessary to cover the tank when my room light is on. 2 of the fish hide but the clownfish always remains out in the open somewhere or on top of the rocks.

I wouldn't worry about it. Some nights, the moon light is bright enough that you don't even need a flashlight to see the reef 30 to 50 feet down.

Also, clown fish find a place that they host and stay there swimming all night. At least mine do. I think that on the reef, the find themselves an anenome and stick with it all night :dunno:

But there is a reason they call them clown fish and its not because of their jokes:mrgreen:
