Reefing newb
I have a 30g long display refugium which has a lot of work ahead and I noticed that a pistol shrimp has established a symbiosis with a bristle worm, and they actually help each other. The bristle worm grabs the food that is laying around and takes it inside the cave to share it with the pistol shrimp, and the pistol shrimp defends the cave and the worm from other organisms such as emerald crabs and hermits.!! O_O I've seen pistol shrimps pared with gobies but not with a bristle worm. Is that normal?

Im not sure I believe this is a symbiotic relationship. I think they are just living in the same cave together. The pistol is stealing food from the bristle worm and doing his natural thing of guarding his territory.

+1...I had a peppermint shrimp that would ambush bristles and steal their food.
