Reefing newb
I know hydras are known to fresh water. A few of these critters came in on live rock 4 months ago for my saltwater tank. the base of this guy is ~3/8" long

Are they good or bad? These appear pretty benign but not sure what to expect. Are there any predators? Are they reef safe?

What about getting a peppermint shrimp? They are reported to find aiptasia tasty.

I am asking not because I am opposed to the goopy stuff in Aiptasia X, but my live rock has a lot of openings, crevices, and cavities so getting too all of the aiptasias is not likely.

Are peppermint shrimp reef compatible? Are they pesky in some other way, but not as bad?

But yes, they are generally reef compatible. It's just that it's annoying if you are trying to spot feed your corals, then they might try to steal the food. (This is based on my own experience)
