It's got to be bad news...

I had one of these, then a few, and now a BUNCH! They are thriving in my return and a few in my sump. They don't move and seem harmless, but if I am getting this many, it must be bad news.

+1 Erin. They are also called q-tip or scypha sponges. They will not harm anything, but if they start to irritate you, you can pull them off. They are filter feeds and will thrive when there are excess nutrients in your system, so make sure you are not overfeeding.

We have plenty of these in our sump.. kinda ugly but no harm!
