TEMPERAMENT - Peaceful

FOODS AND FEEDING - Vitamin enriched live brine shrimp, live or frozen mysid shrimp, feed several times a day. They may refuse to eat frozen food so a mature reef system to provide pods is a must.

AQUARIUM SUITABILITY - 4

REEF COMPATIBILITY - Do not keep with corals or anemones that have potent stinging tentacles.

CAPTIVE CARE - Provide suitable shelter sites, overhangs or caves, keep with nonaggressive tankmates, typically will feed on live food only, switch to frozen mysid shrimp once acclimated, as an alternative feed live brine shrimp that have been vitamin enriched. Should be in pairs or in a small groups. This is one of the more hardy pipefish available. They prefer a mature reef system with lots of rock. The Jannss Pipefish may perform the role of a cleaner fish in an aquarium, cleaning parasites and dead flesh off of other fish in the aquarium.
