Killer Dottyback

My dottyback is killing my hermits! He flips them and swims off and then hides in the rock till they begin to emerge and then darts in for the kill. He didn't always do this. He killed a coral banded shrimp a couple months ago.

But he wasn't always like this and no he's doing me any favor. IMHO, hermits are reef safe only if they are small and I always get small ones. My hermits are crucial to keeping algae down and my tank clean. I'm going to get rid of him in a week or so.

oh course they are reef safe, but unlike snails they cant grow their own shells so when its time to move outta the shell he has to go somewhere else to find that shell i.e your snails
