LEDs?

1/10th?
1 led to ten gallons?
that sounds a bit off please elaborate
and moon lights since you have a cube should be one in each corner or 6 evenly spaced out

For moonlights - whatever looks good to you. They won't serve any purpose other than looking cool. 4 in a cube would be more than enough. You could maybe get by with a single one if you don't want the entire thing lit.

You talking about just moonlights then you don't need much. If you wanted LED lighting to replace T5 or something then I don't know, there's too many unknowns right now because LEDs aren't all equal.

rellikdloc im still not sure about the whole 1/10th thing but everythinng about the moonlights is spot one, if your interested in an led upgrade for your tank if yougo to the home site for nano cubees i do beleive they sell new led hoodds as well as metal halide hoods but if your trying to diy upgrade your lighting with some leds than your best bet would be too look at other selfcontained setups and see how they are built than modify, if you need more help pm me im an engineering and fabrication specialist so i can help you from where you may be stuck

nope those bulbs make what i refer to as empty light the leds themselve dont cover the proper spectrums of light they just create that flood of white or tanish now if they have those leds in blue thatll be fine for the moonlight however you dont want it too bright in the tank at night
now the question i shoulda asked what do you wanna do with the tank? the compmacts you have in the hood should be duel 30~ something watt compacts which will produce 64-72 watts all together that not very much but you can get away with some corals in that tank but youll have to keep up with bulb replacements i have the 24 gallon nano-cube and mine has duel 36 watt compacts and 2 moonlight leds built in i have 3 seperate colonies of zoas, 4 different sps, and macro algeas
one trick to getting the most out of the light you got is placement of the corals and the amount of water you have actually displaced with the live rock. something most people dont account for. so what do you think dont worry ask questions
