Great staff, very helpful. Always has lots of used stuff for sale if you don't want to pay a lot for new items. All their stock is properly quarantined, and their tanks are very well set up, very clean. I can't say enough nice things about them :)

most people work during the day and cant get to the lfs's.if i had a store i would have the same hours

but you still have to take care of the animals and you have to have the electricity on and you still have rent to pay so buy being closed more then your open you are going to lose money

Yes...weird hours..drives me nuts, cuz by the time they open, all my kids get home from schoole, so I either bring them all w/ me (boo!) or wait until the weekend. They went through a management change a couple months back, they're restaffing, but most of their store's income is from tank maintenance. Literally, their store is half of an appliance repair shop :) ..... THey haven't steered me wrong yet!!

Another good place in Northern VA (according to my brother) is The Marine Scene in Herndon.

My LFS is decent. They have a huge selection and their displays are pretty clean but they're overpriced. Still worth a stop in if you're ever in the Charlotte area.

Aquatic Critters in Nashville is hands down the best place here.The only thing I wish is that the doctors and lawyers that visit the store woundn't snatch up all the good stuff(acans,micros,blastos)before everyone else gets a chance.....leaving the brown mushrooms for the rest of us commoners.

I live in Denver, CO and the best saltwater shop is AquaMart (in process of going saltwater only) and Fish Den (freswhwaterar and saltwater) is good as well.
