Light Acclimation?

Hi folks,
Its getting close to a year since I set up my tank. I have a new 150W 14,000K bulb for my HQI metal halide. My plan is to set the timer for two hours, then add 1/2 hour a day until I'm back up to the full 8 hours. Is this a sound acclimation strategy?

Sounds good to me... but I never re-acclimated when I swapped my bulbs out.

I'd only acclimate to a bulb switch if you are changing brands or intensities. Say a 14k to a 10k etc.

Thanks for the replies, i wasn't shure if it was a big deal to acclimate or not. The bulb I switched to was an exact replacement.

I think the only time most people acclimate when they change bulbs is when they change a lot of the bulbs (or all of the bulbs at the same time).
