What kind of lighting would I need for my 55 gal hex tank, I'm not too sure on this one I heard its 3-5 watts per gallon is that true

Watts per gallon is not really a relevant way of determining what kind of light you need.

Watts are a measurement of power consumption and really have nothing to do with light output. .... different lights put out different amounts and colors of light. Some are good and some are bad...
