Ok so in my 55 gallon I have had a diatom bloom and so I went lights out for a while. I think I have things under control now thank god. I had been running my actinics only and it really seems like the corals and all of the snails and hermits like it a lot. I kinda like the look of it too to tell you the truth. The regular lights I have in my opinion are a little too white and I want to make it more bluish than they allow...I think the are 10k. So with that, is there any recommendations on kelvin rating that would go with the actinics to make it have a bluish hue but still allow enough light to make it healthy for all involved?

swap out the 10k for a 14k or higher bulbs. That should help alot.

I'm updating my t5s to Geisemann powerchrome actinic+.... they're SO much brighter than the t5s I got with the fixture.

man...trying to do so much research on lighting and now I am curious about the 14k lights. What color are they...seems like they would be on the blue end but do you have any pictures or examples of these temperature of lights? These light replacements are at a bad time for our budget so I really have to make the right decision the first time

im actually starting to think that 5500k with my actinics might give a good seablue look... any thoughts

5500K is VERY yellow.
