I run whites for 9 and flourescents for 8 on a PC Flourescent. I get morning sunlight:happysun: 'til around 9AM through windows. I believe that can be good for corals and bad for algae. It took me awhile to adjust my timers to this and keep algae down. Now, my corals are growing. This may be the best results for my tank only, though.

I usually run mine around 10 hours a day, then have 3 LED lunar lights going all night. Lights are on from 1pm to 11pm usually

I run my actinic for 12hrs and my 10k for 9 hrs.... I run all my lights on timers .....the actinic lights come on an hour before the 10K and stay on for two hours after the 10k kick off...... Of course I have the lunar lights on after the actinic as well.

Its all personal prefrance.... It depends on the type of lights, corals, fish and algae problems you have. A good base line is 8-12 hours.
