So I kind of have this nebulous idea and maybe someone here can help me crystallize this vision.

Ever since I saw that article on seahorse hunting: Struggling to Save the Seahorse - National Wildlife Magazine

And reading about Shark Finning from daugherty's link: Monterey Bay Aquarium

I've been trying to think of something that could be done to raise money for ocean/ reef/ aquatic animals conservation. We've got some talented people here, artists, photographers, businessmen... that might be able to put together some kind of community store or web site or branch of this site to raise awareness and funds for donation. I am making my own seahorse Christmas cards this year and maybe we could make copies to sell with the proceeds going to charity? Or maybe put together s calender or something with photographs... I haven't really gotten much further with this thought. I know with the economy many of us are strapped for cash so giving our time to raise money would be a good thing. Does anyone have any ideas? Is this totally stupid? Would love some feedback.

    Thanks,
    C

i'm in, i can help with the web design, and perhaps the hosting, i'll have to check my servers and see how much bandwidth i have left...

one thing that comes to mind, is what if we did something like a cafepress account... its free to set up, no one has to handle the orders or anything, we just go in, set it up, and then the money comes in as the items sell...

the other thing that i have been thinking about... what if we had some bumper stickers printed up for this site, or that one, or both....I mean really, if my LFS can have "KISS MY WRASS" bumper stickers made up, why cant we come up with something for the site?

How about toilet seat covers? j/k

...:scratchch that's actually not a bad idea for your "pranks" thread, project. You should find a way to get toilet seat cover printed with your boss's face on it and install it in all the bathroom stalls

but our toilets dont have covers.... they are the commercial hang off the wall kind, with no tank or lid...

and that would be too easy to trace back to me...

altho, i like the way he thinks...

have you ever seen thoes potty training things, the little tissue targets that you can float on the water? kid, i'm sure you have some of these, well, just print pictures onto thoes...

probably just as traceable, but works when you dont have a lid...

Well the other option would be to get a picture of him, cut the mouth out and laminate it...then strategically place it in the urinals when no one was around
