Lowering KH?

Does anyone have any tips on lowering KH? My KH is at 6.0 and 19.5
Ca 350 Mg 1300 1.025 and Ph is now around 7.9

I did a water change and have been adding calcium every day.
I stoped using the buffer. Which was just masking my problem.

Any suggestions? Tips?

I am not sure I understand. How is your KH at 6.0 and 19.5? Is the 6.0 your make up water and the 19.5 your tank water? If so, I would retest. a KH of 19.5 seems WAY out of range even if you did happen to overdose the tank.

Yeah, I'm a lil confused also...but to answer your question, water changes will get your alkalinity down.

I just started testing for these elements last week when I purchaced the Red sea test kit.
I will definitly be doing more water changes. Any other tips to correct my levels? anyone?

KH 6.0 Meq/L dKH 16.8 Mag 1350 Ca 350

You're not adding kalkwasser to your ato, are you?
I am and my alk just shot up to 12dkh! I need to cut back on the kalkwasser.

I also find it odd that your alk is that high but your calcium is less than 400.

I would retest and tell us the results again.

I think you either did the alk test wrong or it's a bad test kit. I don't think it's possible for alk to be that high at the pH you have. Another possibility is the buffer you were adding has alot of borate in it which will force the test kit to show an inaccurate alk level.

I was adding way to much buffer. thanks guys

I retested after water change and the alk went down.

water changes is the best way to lower the alk. and i would do a couple more tests to see if they are really that high
