LR and Sand transfer help

Well since i now have upgraded to the 120 tank I need to take to sand and lr from the 55 and move it to the 120. The 55 has been cycling for 2 and a half weeks. What is the best way to do this. I was thinking about removing the lr and placing it in the new tank.Then transfer all the sand and add some new sand to make up for the extra space. Last transfer all the water and continue to fill the rest with ro/di water and mix the salt in the tank. I have diatom all over will this caure me any problems? Please let me know what you think

wont cause you anymore problems. You havent finished cycling yet if I remember right anyway so it may lengthen the cycle a little but wont hurt.. Your plan sounds good to me but I would mix the water and salt before I put it in (but thats just me ) .. good luck with the transfer and the tank...:D

I would mix the salt for at least 24 hours before you add it to the tank. Newly made saltwater is very caustic

stirring up old sand beds can cause a HUGE ammonia or trate spike. Rinse the detritus out of the sand with old tank water well.
