Macroalgae Identification help

That algae is feather caulerpa.
 
That is Caulerpa mexicana or Feather Caulerpa.

How can you tell if it's mexicana and not taxifolia or scalpelliformis?


I don't like caulerpa as macroalgae for a refugium because they can go asexual.They die-off,become slightly transparent,mushy and cloud the water.
