Marineland pump

I found a good price Marineland pump, actually quite a few I think they were on sale

anyone have any say on the brand?

They are not bad. In fact, MaxiJet powerheads (made by Marineland) are some of the best in the hobby, IMO. I always recommend MaxiJets because they work well, and they are very affordable.

I just bought the 5500 two weeks ago. Its pretty quiet. I had to go with the largest unit because I was cheap and wanted to still use my Octo 800s HOB skimmer. I don't have the funds to get an i-tech yet. I had to split the flow between the return to the tank and water to feed the skimmer. This allowed me to do both even with the head loss going to the tank. So far, so good.

I have a Marineland filter and I love it. Very sleek design. Not sure about their other products, but I'm happy with what I've got :)

yeah man. Just posted in the other thread. Good price, quiet, no heat issues, and easy to clean.
