Maroon Clown, change in behavior.

I have had a maroon clown for 7-8 months and he has always had his little area he hangs out in. I came home today and he is hanging out at the very top near the overflow. He looks healthy and is as active as usual, but this is not something he does. He has been the there for several hours now. Is this something I should be concerned about?
