Mature Blue Leg Hermit died. :(

My first ever Blue Leg Hermit died. :(

He was doing great and all the other crabs in the tank are busy doing what they do best.

He just stopped moving and then today another hermit flipped him over and he is just not moving.

Even if I poke him to try to get him to withdraw into his shell. Nothing.

Dead.

Should I just leave him in there for the CUC to remove or should I remove him, extract the carcass, clean the shell and return it to the tank?

You can leave it in there, something will eat it, and in the meantime it's small enough that it won't cause a mini-cycle
