Mexican turbo snail?

I got him two days ago . He's only really moved an inch, and is creating clumps of sand.
Is he supposed to move faster?
And what are these clumps of sand, are they normal, and will they stop?

Sounds like you didnt acclimate him too long. Inverts need a little extra time and the drip method. Test your water. The clumps of sand are slime he's emitting to coat his body for protection. Snails can get "paralyzed" for a bit if something is out of whack with your water.

You need to test the water, he should be ok, but they die easy too.

What do you call fine?
Nitrates are bad for snails and inverts.
20ppm nitrates are good for fish but not for snails

Also how did you acclimate the snail?
