midas blenny

so i've been considering getting a new fish for my tank (specifically a midas blenny) and i wanted to know if these guys are known to jump? i have no cover on my tank and would hate to have him die just because he decided to jump out so has anyone had experience with these guys while not having a lid?

I havent heard stories of them jumping, but every fish is an individual

Any fish will possibly jump out, it's just a matter of when. It just so happens that wrasses, blennys, and gobies are more likely to jump then others.

I'd say, cover your tank. A screen is easy to make (says the girl who had her husband do it) and then you don't have to worry about it.

I was thinking about a screen but I don't wana reduce the light from my lights

check out the DIY section, there are lots of great way to build screens that dont impact the light much.

IMO, this is the best stuff to use. It's clear screening so it blocks the least amount of light. Clear 1/4" Screen Netting 6.5' x 2.5' - English
I've been using it for over a year now and love it.

My midas blenny has never tried to jump, they pretty much stay in their caves its my favorite of all my fish!
