modding a seaclone...

has anyone here been able to succesfully modify a sea clone skimmer by replacing the powerhead?

or maybe somehow getting an airstone inside it to make more bubbles?

I modified my Sea Clone by throwing the body of the skimmer away and using the powerhead as a powerhead. :)

you can modify them some.. if you drill a hole in the center of the cover on the collection cup just big enough to squeeze an airline tubing through you can feed the airline tubing down onto the side of the cone and put in a flexible bubble wand then connect the other end of the airline tubing to an air pump.. the biggest problem with those skimmers is they just dont produce enough bubbles.. After you do it the skimmer actually does work pretty well.

I modded mine by taking off the pre filter that it comes with, changing the valve for the air intake and cutting a rubber glove to make a o-ring for the cup where it sits on the tube.

Works great now and I empty 2 times a day sometimes
