monkiboy's 265g build thread

O wow so its a constant running water change ??? So baseckly you dont have to worry about changing water all the time just mixing salt and making sure salinity stays good where the salt water come from right ?
it can run whatever amount of gallons you want up to 99 gallons, continuous (one gallon change after another), weekly (divided up over a week), or daily (divided up over a day) and you can have it in repeat mode.

so for example on this build i might do 20g water change every week. so i set it to 20g on the controller and to weekly repeat and every week it will do 20 1-gallon water changes evenly distributed throughout each week.

it will automatically fill my RO water bin, auto fill my salt water bin, and automatically turn on my power head to mix. all i have to do is toss a bag of salt in my salt water bin when it warns me the salt water bin is low, will be replenished with fresh and needs salt to be mixed.

looking good so far!

Looking great! Now put some water and rocks in it already! lol

What's "Redguard"?
haha, yeah i wish - SO much left to do! thanks for checking things out, though!

this is their sales blurb:
"RedGard Waterproofing and Crack Prevention Membrane prevents cracks in tile and stone floors due to surface movement. The membrane also produces a moisture barrier. Suitable for use in residential and commercial tile and stone installations."

it's amazing stuff. i've taken weak cardboard made a box, painted it with two coats of redgard and within 12 hours it's solid and waterproof and i can use it as a pail or bucket to hold water. it also has a cool color changing aspect to it. goes on light pink and dries vibrant red. i dig it :D

today was almost all spent on electrical, running wire, new circuits, GFI galore, t5 lighting under the stand and behind the tank and entrance to room and switches to control most things. i wanted three 20A circuit and circuit GFI triggered together. it took a lot time and still not done.

this has been fun to watch you build. I want to do that in our new home. Can't wait for you to finish it up.

sourced a used 160g vertical storage container and some HCl for the 400+lbs of rock i need to clean!

instead of using two 160g i am going to do the 160 and one 55, saltwater and fresh respectively.

the pocket door rail track and rollers arrived today. i love me some mcmaster!

this will make maintenance so much easier by allowing me to slide the soon to be constructed LED frame rack completely out of the way behind me.

rinsed out the 160g water container a few times and filled and will leave it be for a while before doing the treatment with sodium thiosulfate later this week.

ok, it's bed time for me but i got a ton of stuff done today and wanted to post up. i'm too tired to explain or provide captions so it's just going to be a bunch of photos that perhaps seem random. if i'm motivated in the AM maybe i'll try to go back and edit. otherwise, ask away and i'll reply to what happened and what i got done. thanks for checking my build out!
