Moving from smaller to larger nano

Reefing newb
Any advice about transitioning an existing reef (fish, coral and rock) from a smaller aquarium to a larger (I'm going from a 14 gallon Biocube to a Cadlights Signature 39g)?

Do I cycle the larger tank when I set it up?
Is the smaller tank used to help cycle the bigger one in any way?
Any tips are appreciated.

The current reef system I have is about 10 months old.

Yes cycle the new tank.

You can take a piece of LR and some of the sand to help establish the bacteria population in the tank. It may or may not make it cycle faster. Just take your time with it and it should go smoothly.

I would also take the water from you water change and put it into the new tank for the first 2-3 weeks. Also add a small piece of table shrimp to help it cycle.

BTW Welcome to the site.

Your name...It puzzles me...

Using water from the old tank will help to avoid a cycle. Since you are using your old rock too, it's unlikely (but still possible) that you will have a cycle. Usually it's avoided when you use old rock, sand and water.
