Mystery Coral

I bought this from a LFS frag tank, the owner who is quite knowledgeable can't id it. i bought it mostly because i hadn't ever seen anything like it. when the polyps are closed the texture feels like a leather coral.

The pictures capture the colors failry accurately. its encrusted over a small rock.

any thoughts?

i read the liveaquaria descrption for snake polyps. I see the similarities but these definitely don't have the elongated necks. Also, the polyps open up during the day (and close at night).
