The Nano Polyp Pack is a combination of various colors and species of polyps, which are well suited for a small reef aquarium, such as the Nano Cube. By incorporating multiple Nano packs along with our Drs. Foster & Smith Select Nano Live Rock, you can create a diverse reef setting in a small aquarium.
These polyps have the ability to sting other polyps or corals. While the sting is not strong, they are semi-aggressive and need to have space between their colony and any neighbors since they tend to crowd them out. They are easy to maintain, making them a good choice for beginner reef aquarists. They require a moderate light level combined with a medium water movement within the aquarium. For continued good health, they will also require the addition of iodine and other trace elements to the water.

They will reproduce easily in the reef aquarium by budding (splitting off a portion of their base or mouth), which will increase the size of their colony. They contain the symbiotic algae zooxanthellae which provide almost all of their nutritional requirements. Especially if the lighting is not optimal, they should be fed micro-plankton or baby brine shrimp.

It is common to receive a rock that is not completely covered in polyps. However, under the right conditions, they will quickly spread across this and surrounding rocks in the aquarium.

Each pack consists of a mix of 5 different polyp rocks. This can be a combination of Zoanthus, Palythoa, and Green Star Polyp. Depending on availability, we will mix the colors and species of the polyps on each of the 5 rocks. When ordering more than 1 pack, we will provide a variety of colors to help you in creating a diverse nano reef aquarium.

Approximate Purchase Size: 1" to 2" per rock

I have ordered that nano polyp pack before. All the polyps were brownish except for the green star polyps. If you want more colorful ones, it's best to order something else.
