Need info on a coral frag

picked this frag up last week at a LFS, any ideas guys? any tips to care for it would be great also, new to this, thanks!

Looks like a not too happy or healthy brain coral (favites.sp). Looks like the far end of it has no tissue, just skeleton.

Yup, that is a brain coral. It doesn't have any special care requirements. Sometimes they'll extend their feeding tentacles after the lights go out. You could try target feeding it with some mysis if it does that.

SERIOUSLY?!?! Wow.. never seen em on my Electric Green Favite.

I had a pineapple brain for years, and not once saw the feeding tentacles, so I think it really depends on the individual coral.

I've never seen any on mine either. I don't think they exist at least on mine!
