She's still a baby.....5 wks old. I think she's too young to be away from her mother, but the owners could not keep them any longer. I'm hoping just having my 9 yr old female lab around will make it easier on the pup. Her mother is a yellow lab and the father is a black lab.

Cute! Just like my lab...pure lab, but part choc part yellow...she's all yellow, except her nose is medium brown like a chocolate lab, instead of black nosed.

Let's see how long before she becomes a holy terror!!! Five weeks is too young. Too bad they couldn't keep her...did you consult with a vet? Maybe you have to supplement with puppy formula or something in a bottle

I've been called worse. :) I did get a solid 3 hrs of sleep last nite....lol

We have an appt with the vet on Monday. She is eating puppy chow...and eating very well so I'm not worried about that, it's just I feel she is too young be to away from her family.

    My daughter named her Brooklyn.

Thats a good lookin pup Capt.
If you'll take a stuffed toy and put in the pups bed,it'll help keep them from whining all night,(SOMETIMES):D

The puppy likes going in the kennel and sleeping. During the day, while someone is home, we just leave the kennel door opened. She comes right out when she gets up, but at night the door is closed. She just whines and wimpers to come out. The nice thing is as soon as she gets up she has to pee, so we already have her going outside. We learned real fast she pees as soon as she gets up...lol She's only up for about 1/2 hr, then goes back to sleep for about 1.5-2 hrs, then she's up again. At least that was the routine 3 times last night.
I see a nap coming at lunch time today ;)

Try closing the door a few minutes during the day. Praise her if she's quiet or give a small treat. This worked for my dog when he was a pup.
