new hitchhiker

I saw a new hitchhiker today. I tried to get a picture but it disappeared by the time I got back with my camera.
It was about 3/4 in long and maybe 1/8 in wide. It looked like a flattened centipede ( the legs? were out to the sides and seemed to have a lot of them) and moved like an inch worm. It would stretch out then get small then stretch out etc.
I looked on Melv's reef but didn't see anything like it.
Any ideas?

thats what i thought those where ,,those was not legs they are the stingers

I guess it could be one; it's small so it's hard to tell if they were legs or bristles. Kinda looks like the pics I just looked up. It was white.
