New Quiet One pump leaking.

I have a quiet one 2200 that I'm using for mixing salt as an external pump. I got it a couple months ago and just started trying to use it recently. The problem is, its leaking where the face plate meets the housing. I've checked the o-ring, it looks new (as it should) without nicks or anything. Its seated tight, and I've tried re-seating it a couple times.

Any thoughts on how to fix it? Any one have experience with these pumps?

Try putting some plumbers silicone grease on the o-ring. I use it on the o-ring on my skimmer and it works great.

I have a 1200 version that does the same thing. IMO, it is a bad design. I just drop the pump into the water changed bucket now

I'll bet that the screws are to tight.Anything thats got a rubber O-ring,will leak if the screws are over tight,even by a fraction.
Try backing the screws off just a tad and see if that will help.

Yote, it doesn't have screws, at least the QO 3000 I have doesn't. The cover 1/4 turns to lock in place.

The 14000s have screws but I also have some 6000s and they don't. I recently bought 2 new pumps (14000 at $300 each) and had bad luck with both of them within a period of a week and a half. Had to return both of them to pet solutions. They are sending new ones, but I am beginning to doubt the product now. :(
