New snail and questions.

Sorry for the bad photo. The photo was taken in the acclimation bucket.

Not sure what it is so any help there is appreciated. He is a pretty good size. Not turbo size but maybe 3/4 of a Margarita size.

I put him on top of the sand and he immediately burrowed in and I haven't seen him since.

That was Saturday.

Is that normal?

nassarius snail looks like to me. They will stay in the sand a lot and eat the detrius in the sand. Eat algae some but usually just left over food and anything dead. Great addition to tanks with a sand bed.

You should see him every time you feed your fish. It's always really comical seeing a group of these storm out of the sand when they smell food. :mrgreen:

Did you buy this snail or did it come with something else you got? If you bought it, did you only buy one??

Bought it from the LFS.

He only had one for sale.

I have fed the fish twice since getting him and I have not seen him surface.

Must be plenty of food in the sand for him or something.

Usually in a tank your size I would have 15-20 of these once it is up and running and you start adding fish.
