Reefing newb
First hi -
I am new here and to the living reef aquariums.

I have a 55 gal tank, 45 lbs of Fiji rock and the water....

My tank and filtration has been up and running since Friday night.

My first question is can rock be added later down the road, or does it all have to be in now?

thanks in advance :sfish:

I was told by some friends to cure live rock first in new tank before adding anything else, but there our some pet stores near by that sell live rock already cured full of coralline algae. So i have added rock later on no probs here but it wasn't shipped i bought it locally, i also ordered online and had to cure first batch when tank first started. Good luck.

Recommend you add all rock up front before you add animals, excepting cleanup crew. this will preclude messing in the system later when you have corals and fish. just a recommendation, as already posted you can add later but is more risky. welcome and hope you find your visits to the site fun, educational, and informative. happy fishin
