New weird yellow growths

My mother-in-laws tank is acting up, she has had high nitrates and has treated for that but as she was treating for the high nitrates she found these new little yellow growths. Does anyone know what they are? If they are dangerous to the tank? How to get rid of them safely? Thanks in advance for any help. I have never seen anything like these.

Hello and welcome, they look like yellow sponges to me and the are safe.

What do you mean by "treat"? Chemicals or water changes?

Looks like sponge to me. The best cure for high nitrates is water changes.

Yes she treated the nitrates with water changes. But I was meaning treat if the yellow growths were dangerous/harmful. Everyone seems to agree that they are most liekly sponges and safe so we will let them be and see what developes. Thank you everyone for your help.
